Colette

I'm currently reading a lot of Colette and thought I would post some pictures of her. Reading up on her really makes you stand in awe of this amazing woman so ahead of her time. I don't want to go into great detail here since its out on various Internet sites.

I have also included some pictures of the images I get when reading her. I have a longing for Summer that is almost aching and when I read the parts of 'Sido' that was included in my anthology I started dreaming of bold colours, beautiful flowers and strawberries with cream. Oh, I miss Summer... *sigh*

Are you also longing for the Summer to arrive? Long breezy days under the lilacs with peach iced tea and vanilla ice cream.. And new potatoes with parsley and green peas fresh from the garden... And I could go on and on.. I don't know but Summer in Denmark to me is especially connected with the food of the season. There's some deep gratification of harvesting your own vegetables and fruits and preparing meals from them on the same day. The freshness and the pleasing thought that this is from your hard labour. I probably romanticizing it a lot but this is my nostalgic dream of the Danish Summer. Last year was quite wet so I hope we'll see a longer Summer this year. Preferably during my holiday..
