Wow, I have been utterly exhausted... I handed in my MA thesis on Tuesday after a bit of stress and drama over printing and uploading but I managed to meet the deadline. Wheew! So that's also why you guys didn't get the chance to see my Monthly Favourites from March but I was so tired and just needed a screen-break. However, now while waiting for my grade I plan on posting a bit more as well as starting drawing again. It's been ages since my last 'big' drawing which didn't resemble a doodle. Trying to my mojo back.
But first things first, my Monthly Favourites from March.

As already mentioned in onw of the posts I managed last month, I told you about my budding love for prints again and my total adoration of Erdem's collection. So naturally these things show through in my favourites. If I had the money, I would probably buy everything. So fresh and fun.  Also the sweet clutches as either a planner, a novel, or a perfume bottle... So cute.
Some people may find all these prints to be a bit too much at one time but I kinda like that. You would definitely be noticed here in Denmark if you walked through town in that shirt and pants. Almost everyone wears black on grey on white on nude. (Boring!) I'm always resembling Frida Khalo amidst Wall Street business people, ha!
Though I do have one fashion rule: If print fabric then clean shape and cut, and if one colour then you can have intricate shapes and drapes. Never both at the same time.

And that will be it from me now. Now I will try to visit the many blogs I have utterly neglected the past six months and see what everyone has been up to. It's nice to be back..

{Fashion Fix} Happy Colours

Dreaming myself away to fields of flowers and warmer weather. My heart is bubbling by the thought of all the flowers awakening under ground.
Some of the styles this spring just make me happy and all giddy! Enough with the black and secure, let's have some fun...

Finally! January is over and February is now upon us. If it was not for the snow and rain here in Aarhus, I would be looking forward to spring. This ambivalence may show through my favourites from January's new arrivals in the web-shops. Still a lot of black and classic pieces but with the bright spring and giddy-happy colours taking over bit by bit.

I am a sucker for draping and good tailoring and nom nom nom.. all good this past month! Oh, and throw in the colour pink and I could not be happier..
i cannot decide which Bayswater I like the best: the blush or the hot pink!? Both please.. However, I am very intrigued by the orange and grey dress by Roksanda Ilincic because I think orange hues are the most difficult to wear. At least for me.
And top it off with nice shoes and your zodiac necklace and come what may...

I hvert fald for mig.
Men man kunne jo prøve at bruge smukke sko og en halskæde med ens stjernetegn til.

2 Years Old!

Yep, today The Dandelion Chronicles turns 2! Amazing and unbelivable at the same time. Seems like yesterday I put up my first post and I dread if actual children's birthdays come as quickly. Too soon!
Nevertheless, a little celebration is in order and I will show some of my favourite things from some of the scans I did a while back.
They all sum up the colourful and vibrant world here on the vast Internet-land as well as the joys of tea and cakes with a hint of self-indulging.

I hope I get to see lots of you guys in the year to come... I will try to avoid any toddler tantrums!

Ja, The Dandelion Chronicles bliver 2 år i dag!

Decor Inspiration: Elegant Bedroom

I like my bedroom. It is rather big and light, and I have the morning sun through my windows to wake and cheer me up.
However, I am flirting with the idea of painting my walls (they are just plain white at the moment) but I cannot decide. The problem is that in the evening and in the Fall and Winter, it does not appear to be big and light! So I don't want to go too dark and feel claustrophobic as a result. And I have the same issue with my living room...

So that's an ongoing struggle with me and myself. Nevertheless, I really adore this look of a bedroom with the elegant touch of the mauve and greyish purple. The owner wanted it to get a hotel room feeling.
I don't know about that since I mostly travel 'low class' and spend my money on shopping and food {hotels' Afternoon Teas mostly!} instead of hotel rooms. But I like the coherence and the calming elegance of this colour scheme. I wonder whether this would be too dark for my room but since I have a white-ish bed it might actually work.

I like the small tableau with porcelain and flowers on top of the custom build radiator cover as well as the Maskros IKEA-lamp which is very popular here in Denmark. I have seen it everywhere, from offices to private homes to drycleaners to everywhere... But I like it. Naturally, since maskros means dandelion!

The painting is by Jeanette Houvenaegel.

{Happy Easter}

Usually, I do not spend Easter because it alters into a recap-vacation in the vancancy of classes. I visit my Mom and my grandparents for nice lunches, but is the decorating and egg hunting thing, I always skip. That was a thing of my childhood experiences; blowing eggs and painting them with water colours.
But I must say that all of the sweet whimsical pictures of different ways to dye eggs and decorate with them over at Pinterest got me wishing I had time to try it. Alas, this year it is not to be, but I will show you guys some of the sweetest pictures in case you are in want of last-minute inspiration.

Happy Easter!

{Monthly Favourites} February 2012

Monthly Favourites

Spring time is near if not already happening. Perhaps, I am just a bit timid to trust that is is finally here for real and for good. Nevertheless, the shops don't care, they have dusted off the old pastel palette and just added hints of bold colours, as well as glitter en masse. I thought I saw glitter, sequins, beading, diamonds, gemstones, gold, and silver constantly. Not that I mind at all.

The Kenneth Jay Lane-necklace is beyond amazing - and it is HUGE! I bet it is incredible in real life.
But really, I think these goodies speek for themselves, so there's little need for me to go on about them. And off course, you can just follow the title-link and find out where I clipped the items.

Oh, and I swear that I will never get too old for pretty dolls, especially this cute from Lanvin.

{EmmaKisstina}

I actually don't remember anymore where I first stumpled upon Swedish illustrator Emma Kristina Hultkrantz's amazing artworks. But they had me hooked with their whimsical and yet minimalist style. The bold edges and pastel colours are an amazing combo.
Some of you may know her from Matchbook Magazine where she does a take on What's In My Bag with all the famous ladies out there, like Marilyn, Jackie, Birgitte, Coco etc.
{Anne of Green Gables}

And today, I just discovered she has started a small line of scarves with her wonderful prints. Limited of about 100 each, these could really become a treasure and a keepsake. I am quite hooked on the Marie Antoinette one.
 {Marie Antoinette}

{Glamour}

I am thinking of saving up for custom bespoke illustrations of the three luxury items I am saving for, like a white Birkin bag, Chanel 2.55 bag, and Louboutin heels. Just to help me remind myself everyday when I dance around in my apartment.
{Pink Still Life}

In case you love her work as much as I do, check out her shop at etsy and her online portfolio.
She also has a blog where she posts inspirations and small everyday things.

Inspired by Mint Blue

Browsing throught the vast endlessness of Pinterest, I discovered this outfit and completely fell in love with the fresh and crisp feel it envoked in me. Today has just been a dull, grey, and eventless day so I will just share some of the images that also reached my eye after being hit with a dash of mint. Enjoy...

Weekly Favourites 49

weekly favourites 49, 2011

Even though we have just made our way into Winter, the retailers and online shops are already making us crave for Spring and colours. I found myself torn between the subtle casual hues and the bright fun colours. Especially the grass-green Mulberry Bayswater has got my heart fluttering like a butterfly. The most perfect Spring colour yet.. On the other side, the Vanessa Bruno athe jumper had my eyes cast longful glanses at it. And the rustic gold-drop earrings are quite devine in my opinion.

I guess, I will pair the items up like the miu miu collection; girly pastels along with deep black accents and very clean silouhettes. Very elegant and not over the top. I just wish that the prozes were lower. For a little-sister brand it is almost as expensive as the mother-line Prada. If it wasn't for the fact that it has my name all over it, I would be quite annoyed with that.

Anyways, what do you guys favour? Do you dare to wear all colours without toning it down with black or grey? Or do you never wear colours besides nude and camel?

Cecilia Carlstedt

Do you know the Swedish fashion illustrator Cecilia Carlstedt? If not, let me introduce you to her beautiful works.
Feminine, flirty, colourful, and lovely would be my words to describe the illustrations.

I have had my eyes on her works for quite some time, and with my recent decision (which has been a while on the way) to invest and buy art instead of clothes, I recieved an offer through a website to purchase one of her prints. Needless to say, I jumped at it, especially when I could save a little money too. This is the one I bought....

I am so looking forward to frame it and hang it in my bedroom.. I just have the perfect spot for it as well as the photo print I won via TabithaEmma and MaGalerie.
Here's some of Cecilia Carlstedt's other works..

Her official website is currently being built but you can discover her work through Art Dept
