Ahh, December starting tomorrow! Isn't it grand? All the lights, scents, and hot chocolate to warm you up? I am not a big fan of November, too cold and too boring. Perhaps I would feel differently if I was American and could celebrate Thanksgiving but alas.
Besides my thesis, I had a one-day-trip to Copenhagen with my mother and sister which was great fun. They bought everything, or so it seemed! I restricted myself to a bottle of OPI Black Spotted which somehow was also released in Danish Sephora and not just in France so yay! Other than that I went to the theatre and saw the European premiere of 'Other Desert Cities' which was incredible, and that sums up my month... Not much, huh!?
Good thing I have my Monthly Faves to look forward to, and here they are.
I am particularly fond of the necklace by Pamela Love and the Charlotte Olympia shoes. I actually pinned them in three different colours! And with the Roberto Cavalli dress I would be stopping the traffic, no? probably most out of wonder by the people around me since we had the first snow of the season today here in Aarhus! Oh well, out with the high heels and on with the practical boots and socks.

{Chanel Haute Couture}

Some beautiful photos of the devine collection fra Chanel. Granted, there were a few pieces which were off key in my opinion, but overall the standard was very high. I love the palette of pale pink, grey, and black. Especially the dress just below is my favourite look - I just wish it was full length!!

How wonderful it must be to see these works of art up close, and to study the embroidery and feather details. I get easily fed up with the looks par se but I admire the craftsmanship anyday - even with the looks I am initially less keen on. I still don't understand the wing-trend going on at Chanel (like the photo above). Nevertheless, I am sure they look faboulous up close.

Well, there isn't really much to say about this, except that it is a very beautiful and cohesive collection, and I will start sporting the palette, and perhaps embellish a beanie!

My Everyday Beauty Essentials

Hi everyone. I hope you are not all miffed about my long absenses once in a while, but school does have a nasty habit of interfering with my life. We have a lot of reading in my Dickens class and I am starting up my final project in another class, so things do get a bit hectic and thus time runs fast. Sadly, I don't feel that inspired by the projects so they aren't something I would blog about.

Nevertheless, I thought I would share with you my favourites in beauty products. These are my everyday products more or less, and I thought that maybe you guys would like to know what a student in Denmark spends her student scholarship on - besides books, pens, and paper.

I am quite the beautyholic. I love beauty products, far better than shoes and dresses. My favourite products would be lipsticks and nail polish. However, I was actually a slow starter with makeup since I was in the local swimming club's elite class, and therefore it was a surprice finding days where my hair was dry! Naturally therefor, I couldn't be bothered with applying makeup and cleansing my face constantly.
So my everyday makeup routine didn't come into being until I was about 17, and high school took the place swimming had had prior.

However, I have always (or since I was 13-14 years old) used daycream and nightcream, and often also eyecream. Otherwise, I think my face would have dried off due to chlorid water and constant showering. But I feel bad if I skip it, and it can be counted on a single hand how many times I have skipped cleansing before going to bed. I hate waking up with makeup smudged out everywhere.

I also tend to use the daily skin care routine, and now also makeup routine, as a kind of meditation and self-appreaciation time. I feel more at ease and the best days are the days where you just know that you look great and don't really need to touch-up constantly.

But anyways, these are my current favourites:

*Tromborg Deluxe face cream (Danish organic brand) I am so glad to have found this one. I feel like a goddess everytime I apply this. And the smell is like heaven.. And even though I am not all-in-green, I do like my skincare to be without the most terrible stuff.

*Guerlain Météorite Perles de Nuit This was my Christmas present from my Mother. I adore the silver pearls and the gorgeous glow it gives. I am quite pale, so this shade is really amazing for my teint. Wish this was a regular colour and not just a LE. Love the packaging as well.

*Chanel Extracils mascara 12This particular is in brown. I really like the subtle look this gives. Perfect everyday eyes. But it is a constant back and forth between black and brown depending on the rest of the look.

*Yves Roche Luminelle Rouge Dragée lipstick no. 65. I buy from post-order companies like Yves Roche and Oriflame. Especially their lipsticks are quite amazing, and this tone is actually just a tiny shade darker than my natural lip colour, so it is perfect throughout the day.

*H&M Hello Kitty Darling Pink nail polish and Maybelline Blue Ceramics nail polish. I change my nail colours A LOT, but the first is one of my all-time favourites and the last one is a recent purchase which I adore in bottle and on nail.

*Bobby Brown blush in Peony. Normally, I wear pink blushes, and even though this looks rather bold, it gives me the porcelain doll teint without it being too 80s either. And the fact that it is called Peony is a treat in itself!

*Shisheido Lilac Irise eyeshadowI love lilac tones, and this, as well as Max Factor's Lush Lilac, is one of my daily wears.

*Wood edt. This is from a Danish equivalent to a 1$ store, but it so amazing! I don't like the citrus scents or the too flower-y scents, so this is more subdued and more interesting. More masculine in a way. I guess that's a good thing since I tend to be very feminine otherwise.

Okay, that came out to be a lot of writing! Hope you injoyed it nevertheless...

Perfume Style

I just discovered these photos on a Danish fashion website, and it got me thinking of how one would interpret perfumes. Do they represent a specific woman or is it possible to dress accordingly?
Do you agree with these interpretations or are they a miss?

Weekly Favourites 49

weekly favourites 49, 2011

Even though we have just made our way into Winter, the retailers and online shops are already making us crave for Spring and colours. I found myself torn between the subtle casual hues and the bright fun colours. Especially the grass-green Mulberry Bayswater has got my heart fluttering like a butterfly. The most perfect Spring colour yet.. On the other side, the Vanessa Bruno athe jumper had my eyes cast longful glanses at it. And the rustic gold-drop earrings are quite devine in my opinion.

I guess, I will pair the items up like the miu miu collection; girly pastels along with deep black accents and very clean silouhettes. Very elegant and not over the top. I just wish that the prozes were lower. For a little-sister brand it is almost as expensive as the mother-line Prada. If it wasn't for the fact that it has my name all over it, I would be quite annoyed with that.

Anyways, what do you guys favour? Do you dare to wear all colours without toning it down with black or grey? Or do you never wear colours besides nude and camel?

Weekly Favourites 44

weekly favourites 44, 2011

I'm on the search for some good fall and winter boots, stylish enough to go with my pretty girly dresses and practical enough to conquer the snow in Denmark in the winter. All the pretty and most stylish boots have very high heels, and even though I love them and they make me look great, it wont be the same effect when I fall head-first in the snow or on the icy streets.. But maybe these Alexander Wangs will do the trick of combining both? The heel seem managable and they would give my dresses an edge.

Oh, and how about those earrings? I really thought it was a glitch when I read the prize tag but apparently no.. Now I know what rare sapphires cost - in case I ever needed that information for - you know - to buy them! I guess the tattoo tights are more within my range of pleasing my bank account manager. No need to riun her day so early in the month, right?

Anyways, hope you all have a great weekend with or without splurges or expenses..

Wuthering Heights

The lovely cover on my edition of Wuthering Heights just seemed to whisper of falling leaves and warm tea with spices.
The sublime wilderness of The Moors and the ragged feelings of my heart seemed intertwixted, and even the makeup brands have some shades to describe my mood. My head is spinning with wonder and disbelief of the time gone already and somehow longing for the crisp and demure icy winters.

The fall always gets to me and make me want to flee. Flee the feelings of longing for something that is always out of reach and the fire of colours whispering of dead passion.

The last revolt of passion is upon us. Soon come the numb winter and we lay barren until spring.
I don't know whether I should make this fall one to follow my feelings or just prepare for the winter, and the cooling and soothing.

Chanel Splurge!

Sorry guys but you will have to miss the Weekly Faves this week as I can't get my set to appear over at Polyvore. I'll see if it has worked out tomorrow and then upload it. In stead, I will show you my Chanel splurge! I have NEVER bought that much makeup at one time, and certainly not in Chanel ,however, there were some amazing offers and so I couldn't help myself! Many nail polish colours that aren't in stock anymore or almost impossible to find, and some lovely lipsticks and.. Well, maybe I should just show you...

I can't even say what I'm most happy about - the gorgeous shimmering powder? The incredible Nouvelle Vague and Mistral? The devine lipstick shades? The suttle sparkly gloss? No - impossible to say. I love them all!

Chanel Nail Polish Cabaret

This is just so funny that I had to post it here as well. {via Fashionista}

Weekly Favourites week 35

Weekly Favourites 35, 2011

I am completely in love with those dusty blue shoes and the embellished Preen blouse. So pretty and so not Fall look to them. I already have the Chanel Peridot nail polish but I'm waiting to try it properly until my nails are better and stronger. Two months worth of stress don't do any good for your poor nails.
Actually, I find it quite fascinating how quickly your body throws a response to poor health and lifestyle choices. if people would just stop and listen to it because 10 out of 10, your body is right! Don't trust your brain on those issues.. If you feel pain - there's something wrong. Period!

Luckily, I don't suffer from inexplainable pains but I know some who do, and it is very frustrating but people really have to push their physicists and doctors to further tests even when they have said there's 'nothing wrong' because.. well, then you wouldn't be in pain, now would you?
I'm sounding bitter right now, I know. It is just frustrating for those of us on the sideline and not being able to bring comfort to the loved ones in pain.  What a sorry note, this post is coming off at.. Better turn my mind to merrier stuff.

For school, I'm reading Dracula and I really enjoy re-reading it. So many details I was oblivious to the first time. Do you experience that too? Maybe that's the test of the quality of a novel - does it keep bringing something new to your reading experience? Does it keep being up-to-date in a way? Very exited about the next couple of classes. I'm such a geek. (And I quite like it!)

Fashion Fix: Chanel Fall Nail Polishes

Just saw these on Fashionista's homepage, and my my my, they look gorgeous - AGAIN!!!
How is it possible to trigger my lust for these things so easily?
So the question is, which one are you going to chick-fight for? I think, I'm going for the bottom one called 'Peridot'. It looks like a very nice gold with a little green in it.. Oh well, I did save money on buying that GOSH nail polish that looks so like this summer's Chanel Mimosa, so perhaps its okay to buy Peridot when it gets to Denmark some time in November/December. Just in time for Christmas!

Back to School

I'm soon starting classes again and thinking how to dress the part. I need some essentials of course and I don't think you could go wring if you incorporate these items into your school look whether it being lectures or seminars. What's your essentials at school or work?
The Topshop playsuite would be great for last of winter and early spring while stuck inside a class room. The colour is versatile and I like the little details like the pleading and the belt. The knit coat from H&M is also super great for this time of year. Stylish and warm which is important here in Scandinavia.. Otherwise, we'll probably die of pnemonia.. Topshop & H&M
The Oxfords are so cute and very versatile and wearable when you explore the town taking photos or sipping green tea on the nearby café. Effortless chic in my humble opinion. The marine tights are so thick that you can use them in the winter and the colour matches the playsuit's oxblod red colour great. And the best thing is that they don't cost a jet! Etsy & H&M
The most essential is the bag to carry your goodies and your school life in and this vintage dokument case is perfect (and goes well with the shoes too - match made in Heaven!) and to keep track of your apponitments of in case of needing spare doodle paper - the weekly notebook from Moleskine. Ever since I tried it I became addicted. I love that you have a spare paper for thoughts and to-do lists or something else that doesn't have to be jotted into a specific date. I don't know but I get frustrated when I have used up all the space of a date and have to write additional stuff on other dates of along the margins. And I don't have that much to do to fill out a large daily calendar so this is perfect for me.
During a long day of studying or listening to silly student representations (I personally don't get anything out of them) it is vital to have a little something something to get your sugar level straight and these pastils from Italian Leone are delightful.. Their size, packaging (cute little boxes with various images - I have several that didn't even show on their website!), colour, taste, smell, and LOOK! Cute cute cute overload!! Currently, I'm snacking on the 'mixed flavours' but I have a thing for vanilla at the moment so maybe I should stock up soon. Pastiglie Leone

I tend to get very dry hands and lips so I always carry hand cream and either a lip balm or a lipstick in my bag. I have for the past year or so been completely in love with Mor Cosmetics and especially their 'Snow Gardenia' line. Its not too heavy a scent but still gives you that luxurious feeling even in the middle of a class room taking notes. And the look of it suggests you are in a leage of your own.. Precious! And if that isn't enough, take out the Coco Rouge lipstick from Chanel and make their heads spin! I have already too many lipsticks but I really love the 'Mademoiselle' nuance, subtle and chic. Mor Cosmetics & Chanel

I have a 'thing' for white notebooks. Their clean polished pristine look gives you the clar base of some serious philosophering (is that a word?). And our brother land Sweden certainly knows how to do this. Ordning & Reda offers you a great selection of calendars, stationary, notebooks, pens and paper in almost all shapes and colours. I'd use the big one in class and the little on 'field trips' or to secret messages from the other students. Wouldn't that be nice to stumple upon during a boring re-cap? Ordning & Reda

And last but not least, the camera I'm saving up for. It almost aches wainting to have enough money for it and to think of all the amazing photos I can make with this beauty. This is the reason why I'm not shopping this year - at all!!! I figured that I would sooner be able to buy this if I didn't spend my money on clothes I won't wear to shreds which in fact is the least you can do. I can't even explain how much clothes I have stocked up that needs to be either sold or given to charity. I couldn't even remember a lot of the stuff! Canon

Now, I will go through my remaining clothes and accessories and try to find something that could be honourable substitutes for these goodies I've shown you. I'm actually embracing my new life (style?) as a non-shopper. And definately more aware of what I don't really need or want when it comes to actually paying. I also think I'm getting more aware of what my true style really is, I'm leaning more and more towards the more clean and simple look but not minimalist though - I love colours and prints - in stead of the eclectial and 'roundabout' look I'm used to and actually annoyed with. So that's probably a little revelation on top of my resolution this year. Not that bad finally figuring out.

Have a wonderful weekend...

Inspired by Clémence Poésy

I am in love with her name.. Simple as that! Seriously POETRY!? How freaking lucky is it to be named that? I'm full of envy..
So I will dedicate these pictures to that amazing name. I really don't know anything about except she's an actress and a model from France. So here goes Parisian Chic, fashion, pink, romantic, and stylish. Enjoy...

Clémence Poésy via

Mor Cosmetics. Aren't these just gorgeous? I love the name, scent and look of these goodies. Via

Oscar de la Renta rtw s11 via

How incredible wouldn't it be to invite your friend for tea time and serving with Flora Danica!? I mean, a cup is like a gazillion and that's just the start of prices! But pretty pretty pretty.. I would ask for the violet designs, you know if I was to order.. ehm.. a cup.. ehm.. Via

Otherwise, if I can't have the Flora Danica I could settle for this charming set. I really think Manolo or Louboutin should design a set with their illustrations. Like the Laduree boxes.. Via

They just have prettier houses there.. I want a pretty building too.. Via

Another picture of Mor Cosmetics. Its just so cute.. and the cupcakes looks tasty! Via

One of my favourite perfumes.. And a bit of Parisian chic.. Via

So there you go.. I'm just in a frency feel at the moment. Consider daily how I can move to Paris and live of my art. Haven't quite figured that out yet but in dreams anything goes. In dreams, I too have a poetic name and a charming pout (my lips are too big in real life. I look like I have an allergic reaction if I make a pout!) I'm also wondering how I can make my apartment look more Parisian so I'm looking over various pictures of French inspired rooms but please mail me or comment if you have ideas or links. I'd be glad for more inspirations. I'm that lazy that I want to do it right the first time..
See you tomorrow with my Weekly faves..
