Hi guys, as I mentioned back in December, I have decided to do change my Weekly Favourites to a monthly feature in stead. It is rather time consuming going through many webshops each week so I have narrowed it down to the shops I visited the most in the first place and then just once a month. 

This will hopefully also give room for more diverse posts in stead of just these favourites of mine.

Anyways, it seems as if I really have become a French chic kinda girl because labels like Miu Miu, Vionnet and Lanvin just echoes my name all over every time. Add a little Scandinavian Edge and it is my dream wardrobe.

I am quite infatuated with the embroidered book clutches by Olympia Le Tan and the one with Shakespeare's collected works is a bibliophile's idea of fashion heaven! Unfortunately, the Shakespeare one is already sold-out but there are several cute and awesome ones like Lolita, To Kill a Mockingbird, and Dangerous Liasons. 

This past weekend, we had snow for the first time this winter but oh, how I long for spring and bold colours.. I may actually buy that Acne skirt just because of the beautiful colour. Also, I would like classic items in more unusual colours so this would be ideal.

And for kicks, the Stine Goya & Sophie Bille Brahe gold Horse ring and the Miu Miu cherry sandals. So cute...

{Happy New Year} + Weekly Favourites

As promised yesterday, I will use today to wish you, my dear readers and followers, the most prosperous and merriest New Year.

I thank you all for the sweet comments and virtual hugs which I have recieved through this little blog the past year. It is truly magnifiscent to think that I have readers from all continents except the cold one in the South! I would never have thought so when I started this adventure.

Maybe I am naïve but I am still surprised that I get visitors from places where I didn't even know they had access to the Internet.

2011 has been a turbulent year for me, especially since I lost my beloved father in August, but also on other areas. Many thoughts have gone through my head, especially according my future and what I really, deep down, want to do with my life and how I am going to acheive the goals I set for myself.

For 2012, I will try to take the good that I learned about myself and others with me and continue to make an effort in being the woman I want to be. I am finally realizing that there's no point in trying to be someone else.

And that is my hope for you guys too. That you will take this opportunity to stop up for a minute and think about where you are in life and whether it is where you want to be. Are you the best "you" at all times or does the intentions go down the drain in the daily hazzle?

I have learned the hard way, just because I wanted it and freely did it, it doesn't mean it was easy, and will pursue the more simpler approach to what I want and need.

 

But without further ado, here's my last Weekly Favourites of 2011.

Given the amount of time that I put into this feature, I will perhaps change the theme to a monthly feature. However, it has been quite fun and a great resource for me to look at all the things and pick out what it is I really want (if I had the means).

I definately see a more cleaner and simpler look, more quality and minimalism than whims and fun fancies.

This last week of the year, it seems like we are all looking forward to the summer and beach holidays (lucky Australia!). However, a good quality jumper, handbag, and possible the best top coat nail polish ever (so I have been told) will never be excommunicated from my wardrobe. What do you see that grabs your fancy? Something that will go way into 2012?

Soooo... The last Weekly Favourite just before Christmas deadline.. and start of the sale.

Are you planning anything for the sale? I must admit that I don't really care for sales. I am not the type to rush in to buy and rub against other people in a frenzy. I did it once for someone else, and I still feel slightly traumatized by the experience! I almost got knocked down by a lady with a rollator! So I prefer to buy from the safe heaven behind the screen, or pay full prize. 

I also have adopted the notion that if you didn't want to buy or wear it at full prize, you don't want it just because its on sale.

That has saved me from a lot of fail purchases.

Anyways, from the things NOT on sale yet around the internet, I have found some very nice things. 

I still have a soft spot for the ACNE Pistol boots. But the Copper shoes from Maison Martin Margiela are almost to die for.... I almost cryed when I saw them (didn't I almost do that last Friday too? I am apparentlt quite emotional when it comes to fashion at the moment!)

And the Husam El Odeh ring with the blueish coloured crystal and rough gold is very chic and edgy at the same time.

The coolest thing though would be the M Missoni sweater with the brass cuffs. Such an unexpected feauture on a simple sweater.

I don't know whether it is my deminishing eager of this weekly feature (I have thought of changing it into a monthly instead) or because I am especially peckerish this week because I had a hard time finding things I liked enough to share here.

Ironically, the things on here that I like the best, I cannot even buy (yet) since I don't own an iPhone. But don't you just adore the gold Native Union phone attatchment?! And together with a Lanvin cover (which unfortunately is sold out already over at net-a-porter) they are the perfect match for the über-stylish phoner, no?

Lately, I have been more fond of my black jewelry than the rest. Even the glossiest and most sparkly jewels get a little more sophisticated look when they are in black, and off course, on a whole-black ensemble like the RED Valentino one, this necklace would be incredible.

And for kicks, an embroidered T-shirt of perfume bottles and a stunning mask with feathers for New Year's.. 

Do you dress up at New Year's Eve, even attend masquerades? I have never heard of anyone besides the royals who actually did, so I would love to hear if you do... I guess, it works better if you are many than just the usual crowd though. The allure would perhaps be quite small, and not a lot of flirting, I think. No one to draw pink hearts on with the TOPSHOP nail art pen.

Even though we have just made our way into Winter, the retailers and online shops are already making us crave for Spring and colours. I found myself torn between the subtle casual hues and the bright fun colours. Especially the grass-green Mulberry Bayswater has got my heart fluttering like a butterfly. The most perfect Spring colour yet.. On the other side, the Vanessa Bruno athe jumper had my eyes cast longful glanses at it. And the rustic gold-drop earrings are quite devine in my opinion.

I guess, I will pair the items up like the miu miu collection; girly pastels along with deep black accents and very clean silouhettes. Very elegant and not over the top. I just wish that the prozes were lower. For a little-sister brand it is almost as expensive as the mother-line Prada. If it wasn't for the fact that it has my name all over it, I would be quite annoyed with that.

Anyways, what do you guys favour? Do you dare to wear all colours without toning it down with black or grey? Or do you never wear colours besides nude and camel?

This is week, jewelry caught my eye.. and shoes. I am looking for some practical yet stylish winter boots and maybe these Penelope Chilvers would do the trick. However, being the girly girl that I am, the Miu Miu-ish Asos T-bar shoes and the actual Miu Miu stilettoes are just too precious.

I adore the designs of the great Paul Poiret and would loose hours in a book about them. I always think they were the best in the pochoir prints of the time. And just for kicks, wear a Vionnet dress while reading. {Just to spark a little irony}

Lace is hidding everything big time at the moment, and no wonder really. When used right it doesn't need to resemble a wedding dress or a nightie. Small accents often create a more appealing and wearable allure to a set or a dress. However, if you per chance are going to a masquerade on New Year's Eve how about the Carine Gilson lace mask? Perfect for the Marie Antoinette in you!

I would pair it with the Julie Sandlau earrings and the mini dress from French Connection for creating the sassy look with the twist due to the long sleeves. Bag? No, just grap the Moët Chandon-bottle and the guy with the perfect chissled jaw and head off into the night!

This should be enough for having an adventure...

The Holiday season seems to have hit the online stores big time this week. Lots of fashion books, home decor items, as well as the little party frocks for all the get-togethers during December and January.

I for one would wear The Row's white dress (I love the sleeves) and in the cold weather the rabbit and racoon hoodie would be perfect. That would also go with my Zara boucle coat at home which hasn't got a collar.

For Christmas Eve, I would go for the Roland Mouret dress and the Topshop tights. The perfect dress with the little twist on the neckline. And during the long hours waiting to open the presents (I am hoping for that faboulous Rosa Maria-ring) the deck of cards from Lanvin would come quite in handy. (In Denmark, we exchange presents on Christmas Eve after dancing around the tree)

When all is said and ate, the scented candle which is inspired by Marie Antoinette's Petit Trianon will surely cure my post-Christmas blues.

Any musthaves or must-wishes this year? The white blazer would be mine..

Oh well, what to tell you.. I did go to the Versace for H&M circus yesterday but not in the morning though.. I need my beauty sleep and I feel very much attached to my life so I wouldn't risque it fighting with the crazy ladies over a dress.. However, when I strolled in around noon I did get two dresses (returned one though due to size and fit), a bracelet, and a ring. The ring is on the large side but its okay. I love my pink silk dress with gold studs. In my world it is very versatile.

Also my troubles with my scholarship program have been solved (I haven't said anything here but it has been very stressing and I have lived without any income for the past two months!) and thus I celebrated a little by buying the Chanel Rouge Carat nailpolish. It is soooo gorgeous.

Today, I went birthday present shopping with my mother and I believe that every inhabitant of Aarhus was on the main streets today. Glad to be home and alive!

So, did any of you lovely people go to the H&M-frenzy or did you save your hard-earned money? I was actually a bit surprised to know that it had been the jewelry that sold out first, and then the leather jackets. I was positive that the dresses and the scarf-bag were the first to go but there's still several of them in Aarhus. I don't know about online though..

I am experiencing a fast-growing love for simle and elegant jewelry which can work both on the daily basis as well on special occasions. The Alex Monroe collection is spot on this love, and the small accents of diamonds and other gemstones are to die for. Subtle and very elegant without the flashy-tacky feel. With that said, I also like big and glitter as long as the materials and the designs are good.. And with one statement piece {the Topshop Star necklace} and the rest subtle, I think it could work well together.

And I still love the past Miu Miu collection and the top would work great with other things in my wardrobe without being too much last season. I like when pieces work like that and that's probably the tell-tell sign if you buy with your heart or are a fashion-victim with no clear personal style. Don't get me wrong, I like to be on-trend but I also know that with many things I followed the fashion trends past instead of wearing what I really liked or what suited me and my figure. Maybe it is an aspect of getting older. No more city shorts or flared trousers for me! Scorned child fears the fire - or something..

On another note, does anyone know whether the Coca Cola lip balms taste like Coke? If yes, I'm so gonna get them... for my sister!

I'm on the search for some good fall and winter boots, stylish enough to go with my pretty girly dresses and practical enough to conquer the snow in Denmark in the winter. All the pretty and most stylish boots have very high heels, and even though I love them and they make me look great, it wont be the same effect when I fall head-first in the snow or on the icy streets.. But maybe these Alexander Wangs will do the trick of combining both? The heel seem managable and they would give my dresses an edge.

Oh, and how about those earrings? I really thought it was a glitch when I read the prize tag but apparently no.. Now I know what rare sapphires cost - in case I ever needed that information for - you know - to buy them! I guess the tattoo tights are more within my range of pleasing my bank account manager. No need to riun her day so early in the month, right?

I haven't really been into a shopping mood today. At least it was very limited the amount of items I clipped to Polyvore, and most very classic like these. Well, I guess it comes and goes really - at least I added a full length gown and sequins! Then I haven't lost it yet, ha!

Anyhow, I really like that the Schumacher capris is called Modern Audrey - then you just HAVE to clip it..

But again, another classic. And I did buy a sparkly deep red nail polish from SpaRituals which looks a little like OPI's 'Ali's Big Break' but I will show you when I get time to try it on. It just looked so cute in the bottle and for 38 Dkr (about £3.5) I couldn't resist.

Once again, TGIF as the hipsters say and thus the Weekly Favourites by yours truly!

This Friday, its all about the blues and burnt colours. There are some gorgeous Carolina Herrera-dresses and suits over at The Outnet and at Asos they have the cool holgraphic top coat by Nails INC. as well as the Christmas collection by Paul & Joe. I can't pick just one so I included them all!

Oh, and how sweet are the fleur-de-lis flats? Or the Louboutin ones? Simply cannot decide... My imaginary closet is fastly expanding!

I am quite smitten by the Casadei two-tone heels. Maybe it is true that if your accesories are of quality you can wear rags and still look and feel like the most stylish lady on the planet. I often find that good shoes and a quality bag can make me feel completely confident and at ease with my appearance - leaving my thoughts open for perhaps more important matters.

My mind has wondered in the fast lane between wanting and longing for the feeling of shade in a heatwave and then loving the icy wind here in Aarhus. My best clothes is for fall but I do feel like escaping for the Caribbean islands and their purple shadows.

This is probably due to me reading Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. I love it so far but it does make me long for summer.

Typically of the Northern hemisphere, I guess. In the summer it is too hot, and in the winter we want summer and sunshine..

Oh well, a little summer can be found in the YSL suit and the Versace scarf-blouse. Tres chic, no?
