{Monthly Favourites} April 2013

Monthly Favourites April 2013

Matthew Williamson dress, 11.915 DKK / Victoria Beckham dress, 12.325 DKK / Vionnet silk dress, 10.885 DKK / Etro silk top, 4.265 DKK / Rick Owens , 12.040 DKK / Acne tuxedo waistcoat, 3.795 DKK / Acne / Joseph pants, 1.525 DKK / L'Wren Scott striped pencil skirt, 7.675 DKK / Bionda Castana white and black shoes / Oversized handbag, 370 DKK

And BAM! another Monthly Favourites has been released.. The exitement and overreaction due to me having some issues with my Internet connection today which vexed me and was very irritating. But now all is in perfect order. Let's hope it stays that way..

Here in Denmark we have had Spring visit us for a couple of days this April, however this month was also the coldest April in 25 years according to the ones who know about this stuff. Uff! So I haven't quite let go of my winter coat yet but at least I can wear high heels around town. That just makes it so much easier for me to dress. I am not a flats or boots kinda girl, mostly because my calves are huge! I cannot even fit the Hunter wellies with extra room! So I am always on the look for nice wellies (any ideas?)

But this month I am very smitten with the Rick Owens leather jecket, so cool and classy at the same time. And that bag from Ruche! Is it just a tad TOO CLOSE to the icon or is it okay? I am alwyas a bit weary when these things happen. Of course I haven't seen it in real life, but I guess there's some significant change in craftmanship and detail. However for that ridiculously low price I consider actually buying it and find out.
Oh, and that vest from Swedish ACNE is just way to cool for school....
...which I DO NOT EVER HAVE TO ATTEND AGAIN BECAUSE I HAVE PASSED MY DISSERTATION!!!!!! Yes, I am just waiting for the official grading but I have recieved my attest that it is passed. So relieved...

Another year is just about to dawn and we are contemplating over the events which passed this year. Sorrows, joys, and all in between are all the essence of life, and if we find that this year was perhaps a bit hard on us, then we should use this time just before another to try to comprehend the lessons we learned from the hardship.
I am a firm believer that when an opportunity is lost, somewhere else another arises, and it is up to us to discover and muster the courage to catch them.

But all the new things which we experienced are all experienced within the established order we try to surround ourselves with. Home - away and home again, as the fairy tales say.
On this blog, one of the homely features is my Monthly Favourites where I showcase my imaginary shopping basket filled with all the wonderful clothes every new month brings along.

December is a curious month in this regard; party dresses, winter boots, and spring clothes all in one month! Enough to make your head spin.
It appears that prints and embellishments are key trends next year paired with strict tailoring and colours - and I highly approve!
Despite the overwhelming palette of colours, my two favourites are the Stella McCartney blazer (I really need a white boyfriend fitted one!) and the black lace Valentino stillettoes.
But what are your favourites this month?

{Monthly Favourites} November 2012

Monthly favourites November 2012

Miu Miu fitted dress, 13.180 DKK / Gown, 22.010 DKK / Roberto Cavalli beaded evening dress, 7.205 DKK / Roberto Cavalli dress, 5.075 DKK / 3.1 Phillip Lim antique dress, 4.565 DKK / By Malene Birger metallic dress, 2.710 DKK / Raoul striped dress, 2.605 DKK / MICHAEL Michael Kors michael kor, 550 DKK / Dolce&Gabbana crochet jacket, 25.780 DKK / Sass & Bide sheer skirt, 2.410 DKK / Charlotte Olympia platform pumps, 5.005 DKK / Jimmy Choo pumps, 4.565 DKK / Fabi narrow boots, 3.275 DKK / Bow sandals, 3.070 DKK / Chanel shoulder bag, 24.395 DKK / Pamela Love brass jewelry, 3.790 DKK

Ahh, December starting tomorrow! Isn't it grand? All the lights, scents, and hot chocolate to warm you up? I am not a big fan of November, too cold and too boring. Perhaps I would feel differently if I was American and could celebrate Thanksgiving but alas.
Besides my thesis, I had a one-day-trip to Copenhagen with my mother and sister which was great fun. They bought everything, or so it seemed! I restricted myself to a bottle of OPI Black Spotted which somehow was also released in Danish Sephora and not just in France so yay! Other than that I went to the theatre and saw the European premiere of 'Other Desert Cities' which was incredible, and that sums up my month... Not much, huh!?
Good thing I have my Monthly Faves to look forward to, and here they are.
I am particularly fond of the necklace by Pamela Love and the Charlotte Olympia shoes. I actually pinned them in three different colours! And with the Roberto Cavalli dress I would be stopping the traffic, no? probably most out of wonder by the people around me since we had the first snow of the season today here in Aarhus! Oh well, out with the high heels and on with the practical boots and socks.

{Monthly Favourites} September 2012

Monthly favourites September 2012

Lanvin long sleeve cocktail dress / Moschino Cheap & Chic crepe dress / Victoria Beckham dress / Splendid shirt / Chloé lace sweater / Chloé blouse / Moschino Cheap & Chic chiffon top / Tara Jarmon / Acne green coat / McQ by Alexander McQueen , $455 / Jil Sander leather booties / Gianvito Rossi patent leather pumps, $705 / Christian Louboutin high heel shoes / High heel pumps / Kenneth Jay Lane beaded jewelry / Crystal jewelry / Jil Sander / Marc Jacobs / Burberry felt hat, $640 / Miu Miu sunglasses

Fall is officially started and I am not all together upset by this. Sure I could go on about the circle of life and be very philosophical - but really I just like it for the fashion! Fall wear always speaks glamour to me. Winter clothing is more tricky because you have to have icy streets, snow, and serious cold in mind. Fall is easier. It is about the accessories - you will not die of a heat stoke if you wear a scarf now, or tall suede boots, or gloves, or hats, or.... you get my point. I also love the traditional colour scheme for fall with the rust, rustic, and burnt hues. And this year I will add a bit of the cool winter notes of blue and white together with the summer neons.
This brings out the freshness of 2012 fall fashion.

I have been looking for the perfect A-line midi-skirt in black or dark colours, and maybe this is it? Paired with the lovely white top with the - what do you call that nckline? Bateau high neck collar? Perhaps not so catchy... But I adore this collar. I am subconciously searching for one in black with 3/4 sleeves. And yes, 'subconciously' because I am not scouring the shops for one but if I find one I buy it!

Oh, and how utterly gorgeous are those quilted pumps!? I can't even sit straight!

Well, that's it for now. Tomorrow I will be celebrating my grandfather's 90th birthday!! Crazy to think that you can have a '9' as the first number in your age.. I hope I will too.

Have a lovely weekend and a great start of fall.

The end of what must have been quite a fashion month here on my blog. Even though I have treated you to next season's goodies I will not leave out my favourites from this month. And I love fall and winter outfits so naturally I am very excited about all the boots, knits, and warm accessories coming in the online stores now. Yet we still have the colours from spring and summer to spritz things up a bit before the fall truly kicks in.

This month I have been drawn towards a somewhat curious combination of looks; equestrian chic and boho. I adore all things equestrian even though I have only been on a horse three times in my life! But I would without a blink of an eye wear these Tory Burch-boots. So gorgeous! The same goes for the divine maxi skirt from Temperley London. Though I doubt a mxi skirt would be good idea once rain and snow arrives.
Other than that, I really like the look from Burberry with the bow belt on top of their coats, and I think I will copy this look myself. A good tip with a too large coat to define your curves.

What else? Oh, the gorgeous prints and colours still going strong from summer, how lovely is that pastel Chanel bag?! And a touch of treasure on your ears and you are ready for any adventure. Fare well!!

Hi guys!

Whoa this month went by like a lightning.. No, seriously! How can it already be my BIRTHDAY TOMORROW!? Crazy...
I don't know whether it is because I'm getting older (turning 25 so I'm basically from the Stone Age) but I only remember my birthday because of other people and my calendar. Usually, I would have stomach aches and trouble sleeping weeks before my birthday. This year - nothing.

Nevertheless, this post was about fashion! I really had trouble deciding which item I'd most like to own. But I think, I managed to get it down to the Paul & Joe-dress, with the KORS Michael Kors wedges as a close second.
But don't you just LOVE the bikini? I don't really think I would ever actually wear one but this is just so pretty. The scallops, the bow-ish front - lovely. And on the other weather-side, the coat is pretty amazing too..
I am already looking forward to the fall clothes.. Kinda sad really since we only have had about 5 days of summer - at the most!
If I didn't love rain so much, it would be very depressing.

{Monthly favourites June 2012}

Monthly favourite June 2012

DSQUARED2, €499 LARA BOHINC, €480

Oh, so sad to see June fade away.. I almost feel like I missed this month but when thinking of what I actually did, it sure wasn't wasted; my sister got married! and I passed my final exams before my dissertation. I am now living in my future and not always having something behind me keeping me at bay.

Since my sister's wedding, I find myself looking for the perfect pretty party wedges. Usually, they are more everyday styles with too summer-y fabrics and prints to my taste. I generally like my footwear more on the classic side. But I think that these YSL Rive Gauche gold wedges with the mary jane-feel to them are perhaps just what I am looking for.
But dear me, aren't these DSQUARED2 boots just amazing? I love the bow detail on the heel and the red lining. Oh, and the new blue colour for the ACNE Cypress is also quite lust-worthy. I would wear these shoes to everything on this page, and what's already in my actual wardrobe.

I guess one of the key colours in the fall will be this rusty, wine, oxblod, red-ish colour...The Burberry gown is spectacular. But perhaps the Miu Miu dress is more wearable, and there's the bow detail too.
However, I am most fond of the D&G print dress. So pin-up but still summer and fun. You should really go and check out the close-ups, because this pinned version doesn't give it justice.

What beautiful additons to my imaginary closet, no? I read on Tumblr a statement saying
I wish I could download clothes illegally
and I cannot say that I don't know the feeling!

Wishing you all a wonderful end of June and a spectacular start at July..

xoxo,
The dandelion chronicles

Hi guys! Yesterday I handed in a paper and now just one left for Wednesday before a small break until my oral presentation late June.. Oh, and on Saturday my youngest sister is getting married! So excited about that... But oh dear - W.H.A.T. T.O. W.E.A.R?????????????
It is a low key wedding, and the reception is in their own garden, which means I cannot wear heels.. A small bummer, but I have bought a pair of wedges to secure me of a little height and lean legs. However, I would wish I could afford those Rupert Sanderson-wedges with houndstooth and pink accents. So cool! And matches the Tibi dress perfectly.. Or perhaps the Roksanda Ilincic-dress and paired with the Charlotte Olympia-heels, or with a practical note the Ancient Greek Sandals {love the wings!!!}

Oh, and jewelry en masse! Such pretty rings and earrings. My magpie-soul is happy happy right now...

Well, this will be over and out from me right now, and see you - hopefully- soon, or at least post-Wednesday!

{Monthly Favourites} April 2012

Monthly Favourites April 2012

Hi lovelies.. This is going to be like an old recording machine gone broken because yet again I feel like this month rushed by and not really saying 'hi' or anything. Crazy fast, really.

However, state of the affairs are well. Posting my synopsis for one of my exam projects today and attending a guest lecture by Prof. Juliet John in my Charles Dickens-course in which my exam topic has also been accepted, so all in all, just crazy work schedule with exams, teachings, family gatherings, and trying to pick up a moment or two to catch my breath.
I am also in the bud of deciding on my master's thesis topic so I can apply for a mentor medio May. So weird that I am writing my final piece (hopefully!) this fall! Then no more school but just the real world. Scary, but also terribly exciting.

Anyways, if we get back to the main reason of today, the fashion, I. WANT. ALL.
I am not even sure whether I can pick one favourite over them all which I am usually able to. Now that I look at the pieces together, it seems like I have quite an eclectic style. With bits of street, bits of glamour, bits of vintage, bits of quirky, bits of rock.
Sadly though, none of this is in my actual closet, but if I had the money, I think the first piece I would buy is the Chloé bell sleeve dress because it is so versatile. The last would probably be the Miu Miu iPhone case since I don't actually own an iPhone, so purchasing a case would probably be a tad silly of me, no?

Oh well, one can dream while treading around Aarhus in my blue Converse and shift dresses. And that's is certainly not too bad either.

Cheers for now, and see you in May!

Monthly Favourites - March

Monthly Favourites March 2012

Oh my, time passes quickly these days. Rushing from one place to another, reading several books and texts on my exam topics, and not quite seeming to take it in. Luckily, now it is Easter, and I can catch up on some of the things that went behind. Just like this little blog. It is still my favourite hide-away from the dreary everyday world, and what could possibly be better than all these new beauties I have to show you?
I actually think, I have found the perfect red high heels! And I have been looking EVERYWHERE for a pair without irritating details or too low heel. But these could be the ones. The only concern I have is the colour. Whether it is slightly too salmon and not just red. What do you think?
Other than that, it just want to let Victoria Beckham know that I would very much like to switch closet with her (naturally in my imagination this involves a full army of fairies who can make all the garments into my size!). I am sure she could find one or two things she might like in MY closet, so she should just drop by really...
Ah well, one can dream right? But I do, especially about the dress and her bag. G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!!!
Oh well, all for now. She you soon. Happy Easter Bunny kisses to you all!
