Spring is now officially over and June with Summer is bursting in on us - wonderful!
And with Summer comes white. At least for clothes, though also my skin because I never seem to be able to produce a tan. So I am rocking my porcelain complection yet again, with sunblockers and the like. I hate stripes and therefore try to prevent them.

Lately I have found myself lacking a leather jacket. I have all sorts of other classy-dressy jackets but not a leather one. And as I tend to always buy the dressy versions whenever I have money to spend, I actually NEED something to dress things down and making my wardrobe more versatile. But since I am still me I cannot go for a normal black one. No, I would like a white one, maybe with some interesting details like lace, studs, glitter or the like. (Well, I do have glitter in my veins, so no use fighting THAT battle!) If you follow my fashion board on Pinterest, you may have noticed the sudden burst of more down-town and street inspiration than usual. Though fear not for a complete transformation, I still like the quirky and personal touches more than trends.
Here in Denmark, I have been up to my neck in the same coat worn by everyone who tries to be fashionable. So BORING! You cannot go just round the block without someone wearing it. The same goes for Mulberry Bayswater bags. When I bought mine 7 years ago - no one even KNEW about Mulberry, and now everyone has it. Well, at least I have achieved the nice patina now for wearing it almost daily.
So, that's the end of my whinnings of being too fashion forward...

{Monthly Favourites} April 2013

Monthly Favourites April 2013

Matthew Williamson dress, 11.915 DKK / Victoria Beckham dress, 12.325 DKK / Vionnet silk dress, 10.885 DKK / Etro silk top, 4.265 DKK / Rick Owens , 12.040 DKK / Acne tuxedo waistcoat, 3.795 DKK / Acne / Joseph pants, 1.525 DKK / L'Wren Scott striped pencil skirt, 7.675 DKK / Bionda Castana white and black shoes / Oversized handbag, 370 DKK

And BAM! another Monthly Favourites has been released.. The exitement and overreaction due to me having some issues with my Internet connection today which vexed me and was very irritating. But now all is in perfect order. Let's hope it stays that way..

Here in Denmark we have had Spring visit us for a couple of days this April, however this month was also the coldest April in 25 years according to the ones who know about this stuff. Uff! So I haven't quite let go of my winter coat yet but at least I can wear high heels around town. That just makes it so much easier for me to dress. I am not a flats or boots kinda girl, mostly because my calves are huge! I cannot even fit the Hunter wellies with extra room! So I am always on the look for nice wellies (any ideas?)

But this month I am very smitten with the Rick Owens leather jecket, so cool and classy at the same time. And that bag from Ruche! Is it just a tad TOO CLOSE to the icon or is it okay? I am alwyas a bit weary when these things happen. Of course I haven't seen it in real life, but I guess there's some significant change in craftmanship and detail. However for that ridiculously low price I consider actually buying it and find out.
Oh, and that vest from Swedish ACNE is just way to cool for school....
...which I DO NOT EVER HAVE TO ATTEND AGAIN BECAUSE I HAVE PASSED MY DISSERTATION!!!!!! Yes, I am just waiting for the official grading but I have recieved my attest that it is passed. So relieved...

Finally! January is over and February is now upon us. If it was not for the snow and rain here in Aarhus, I would be looking forward to spring. This ambivalence may show through my favourites from January's new arrivals in the web-shops. Still a lot of black and classic pieces but with the bright spring and giddy-happy colours taking over bit by bit.

I am a sucker for draping and good tailoring and nom nom nom.. all good this past month! Oh, and throw in the colour pink and I could not be happier..
i cannot decide which Bayswater I like the best: the blush or the hot pink!? Both please.. However, I am very intrigued by the orange and grey dress by Roksanda Ilincic because I think orange hues are the most difficult to wear. At least for me.
And top it off with nice shoes and your zodiac necklace and come what may...

I hvert fald for mig.
Men man kunne jo prøve at bruge smukke sko og en halskæde med ens stjernetegn til.

{Monthly Favourites} August 2012

Monthly Favourites August 2012

Mary Katrantzou pencil dress, 6.285 DKK / Stine Goya print dress, 2.200 DKK / Acne cotton sweater, 1.490 DKK / Haider Ackermann leather jacket, 27.500 DKK / Acne jacket, 15.910 DKK / Wool jacket, 3.480 DKK / Temperley London long skirt, 13.630 DKK / Dion Lee pencil skirt, 5.910 DKK / Stine goya, 1.600 DKK / T By Alexander Wang ruched skirt, 970 DKK / Acne high heel boots, 3.385 DKK / Tory Burch boots, 4.190 DKK / Ash lace up boots, 1.185 DKK / Chloé leather bag, 10.660 DKK / Kimberly McDonald diamond jewelry, 169.510 DKK / Marni clip on earrings, 2.970 DKK / Isabel Marant teardrop earrings, 1.130 DKK / Etro, 3.445 DKK / Burberry bow belt, 2.525 DKK / Burberry leather belt, 2.470 DKK / Miu Miu CRYSTAL-EMBELLISHED CABLE KNIT PULLOVER, 7.040 DKK / One Kings Lane - VintageCouture - Chanel Pastel Handbag

The end of what must have been quite a fashion month here on my blog. Even though I have treated you to next season's goodies I will not leave out my favourites from this month. And I love fall and winter outfits so naturally I am very excited about all the boots, knits, and warm accessories coming in the online stores now. Yet we still have the colours from spring and summer to spritz things up a bit before the fall truly kicks in.

This month I have been drawn towards a somewhat curious combination of looks; equestrian chic and boho. I adore all things equestrian even though I have only been on a horse three times in my life! But I would without a blink of an eye wear these Tory Burch-boots. So gorgeous! The same goes for the divine maxi skirt from Temperley London. Though I doubt a mxi skirt would be good idea once rain and snow arrives.
Other than that, I really like the look from Burberry with the bow belt on top of their coats, and I think I will copy this look myself. A good tip with a too large coat to define your curves.

What else? Oh, the gorgeous prints and colours still going strong from summer, how lovely is that pastel Chanel bag?! And a touch of treasure on your ears and you are ready for any adventure. Fare well!!

Monthly Favourites - March

Monthly Favourites March 2012

Oh my, time passes quickly these days. Rushing from one place to another, reading several books and texts on my exam topics, and not quite seeming to take it in. Luckily, now it is Easter, and I can catch up on some of the things that went behind. Just like this little blog. It is still my favourite hide-away from the dreary everyday world, and what could possibly be better than all these new beauties I have to show you?
I actually think, I have found the perfect red high heels! And I have been looking EVERYWHERE for a pair without irritating details or too low heel. But these could be the ones. The only concern I have is the colour. Whether it is slightly too salmon and not just red. What do you think?
Other than that, it just want to let Victoria Beckham know that I would very much like to switch closet with her (naturally in my imagination this involves a full army of fairies who can make all the garments into my size!). I am sure she could find one or two things she might like in MY closet, so she should just drop by really...
Ah well, one can dream right? But I do, especially about the dress and her bag. G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S!!!!
Oh well, all for now. She you soon. Happy Easter Bunny kisses to you all!

Weekly Favourites 49

weekly favourites 49, 2011

Even though we have just made our way into Winter, the retailers and online shops are already making us crave for Spring and colours. I found myself torn between the subtle casual hues and the bright fun colours. Especially the grass-green Mulberry Bayswater has got my heart fluttering like a butterfly. The most perfect Spring colour yet.. On the other side, the Vanessa Bruno athe jumper had my eyes cast longful glanses at it. And the rustic gold-drop earrings are quite devine in my opinion.

I guess, I will pair the items up like the miu miu collection; girly pastels along with deep black accents and very clean silouhettes. Very elegant and not over the top. I just wish that the prozes were lower. For a little-sister brand it is almost as expensive as the mother-line Prada. If it wasn't for the fact that it has my name all over it, I would be quite annoyed with that.

Anyways, what do you guys favour? Do you dare to wear all colours without toning it down with black or grey? Or do you never wear colours besides nude and camel?

Weekly Favourites 44

weekly favourites 44, 2011

I'm on the search for some good fall and winter boots, stylish enough to go with my pretty girly dresses and practical enough to conquer the snow in Denmark in the winter. All the pretty and most stylish boots have very high heels, and even though I love them and they make me look great, it wont be the same effect when I fall head-first in the snow or on the icy streets.. But maybe these Alexander Wangs will do the trick of combining both? The heel seem managable and they would give my dresses an edge.

Oh, and how about those earrings? I really thought it was a glitch when I read the prize tag but apparently no.. Now I know what rare sapphires cost - in case I ever needed that information for - you know - to buy them! I guess the tattoo tights are more within my range of pleasing my bank account manager. No need to riun her day so early in the month, right?

Anyways, hope you all have a great weekend with or without splurges or expenses..

Weekly Favourites 42

Weekly Favourites 42, 2011

Once again, TGIF as the hipsters say and thus the Weekly Favourites by yours truly!
This Friday, its all about the blues and burnt colours. There are some gorgeous Carolina Herrera-dresses and suits over at The Outnet and at Asos they have the cool holgraphic top coat by Nails INC. as well as the Christmas collection by Paul & Joe. I can't pick just one so I included them all!
Oh, and how sweet are the fleur-de-lis flats? Or the Louboutin ones? Simply cannot decide... My imaginary closet is fastly expanding!

Hope you like them and perhaps even get a little inspired.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Favourites 40

Oh well, the weekend has passed way too quickly. And the Fall has come with all the beautiful colours and fuzzy coats.
I have always loved the Fall, despite the rain. Or maybe because of the rain.
The gentle tampering of drops at your window, like knocks from outside. The promise of after a Spring, a Summer and Fall will come, and after the death-like Winter, Spring and prospect will come anew.

This week, I have fallen for the rain. The blue-ish colours, the gentle sparkles, and dark clouds.
I always feel cheered up by pink, but the blues somehow always describe my state of mind, whether they be dark and moody, or soft and promising like a Summer's sky.

I think my eyes look like the rain - they change colour depending on the season and the setting, like the rain.
Perhaps that's why I think they are my best feature.

Weekly Favourites 39

Weekly Favourites 39, 2011

Ahh, finally... The weekend is upon us once again. Here in Denmark we are experiencing a lovely Indian Summer with temperatures around 22 degrees celcius.

For school I have been reading Wuthering Heights, and I must say that I am not particularly taken in by it. I'm still mushing over it a bit - but I am not in love. It saddens me a little though. I feel like I should be in love with this exuberant tale of passionate love being such a romantic as I am. I guess, I like the small sequences and the overall story rather than actually reading it word by word. It is such a strange feeling, and I don't really recall ever felt like that before towards a book.

I'm not sure whether it is a case of too high hopes, or just me being a cold fish at the moment.
Perhaps if I had read it at another time, more happy, I would feel otherwise. Nevertheless, I do see why it is such a masterpiece, and especially considering Emily Brontë herself and the surcomstanses in which this work was produced.

No, I'm too undecided on the matter. We'll see on Monday when my class will discuss the novel.

Weekly Favourites 38, 2011

Finally! Still don't know why it didn't show up yesterday but now it is here.. Since I saw the J-Crew crystal tie over at Pinterest I have been quite obsessed with it. Sadly though they don't ship to Denmark but I'm thinking of a little DIY. In my mind it is not that difficult, however, reality will show that my embroidering skills may lack some elegance. Nevermind that now though.
I'm quite fond of the suspenders too. Maybe I'm having a men's wear moment? But with a touch of glitter it can't be all wrong, no?

Hope you have had a lovely weekend, and see you in the new one...

Weekly Favourites week 27

Here we go again, weekend is finally upon us.. I have yearned for some time off. As much as I loved getting all the things done during the week, I feel completely beaten today. Yesterday was spent at my parents' where my older brother came for dinner. We had a lovely barbeque and it was nice to see him again. He's very busy at work and live somewhat far away, so this was really nice.
I also went to the blod doning central in Aarhus in the morning and did my good deed of the day. I like to give back in order to show my thanks for still having my Dad and my uncle around. And the nurses are so nice and you get candy and a soda or juice. I always enjoy the half an ahour out there.

The online retailers' sites are preparing for the fall, so I have included some coats (amazing fur details!) and a hat. I will not need to buy a new coat this year, I have two still; a dress-y one and an everyday one. But I always buy them in August or early September. I want the best selection so I don't want to wait too long when deciding on a style because the good one go so fast.
Oh, and what about those shoes? I have no idea when to wear them, but seriously!? Hope you are enjoying a relaxed weekend and with slightly more sunshine than what is mustered here.

Weekly Favourites week 18

My, this week has run by fast! Last time I checked it was Monday!?
However, today's Friday and that means lovely goodies from the retailers online.
This past week, I have noticed two trends in dresses.. Either bold prints or vintage silouhettes like from the 30s with Valentino or flapper with Proenza Schouler. Have you noticed a certain trend OFF the trend barometer? Because everyone says 70s and I always manage to find Edwardian inspired or 60s prints! Perhaps that's just me, however. I am fond of those decades and my eyes may well scan for those.
I also think that the long striped dress are so close to Stine Goya's designs from Copenhagen Fashion Week.. And naturally I like that!

Dresses Week 18, 2011

Sep & Acc Week 18, 2011

I am looking for the perfect red pumps/stilletos as I was forced to throw out my old ones! They had to be put to sleep. They looked like, I hadn't worn anything else for 10 years! I'm not that fond of python, however, I really like the pop of blue on the sole on the bottom ones, and I really like the candy striped heels on the others! Reminds me of Joanne Harris' sequel to 'Chocolat', 'The Lollipop Shoes'.
And I adore the horse shoe ring! So cute, simple, and elegant at the same time.. Perfect!

As always, please check out my Polyvore account and add me as friend if you like!

Have a lovely weekend!

PS. Today its 10 years ago I was confirmated! So strange how fast time has gone by.. I remember everything except the food! *lol*

Weekly Favourites week 17

Well, here at last, my weekly favourites.. And of course, the Wedding (I think you know which one ;)) has a little impact on this week's selection of dresses. So many gorgeous hats and dresses. I especially loved Tara Palmer-something's blue dress but not so keen on her hat though, but I really adored the Spanish-influenced dress and turban with red flowers. Gorgeous!
As for the wedding dress, it was ok. It suited her perfectly and goes in line with her personal style (from what I recall) and had connotations (too heavy, maybe?) to Grace Kelly. However, she's not the worst to look to for fashion ideas, so all in all, very nice. Oh, I did love that she was allowed to have loose hair and a rather short veil.
But enough of the wedding, here's my personal faves from this week..
Dresses Week 17, 2011

Seperates & Accessories Week 17, 2011

I absolutely adore the silver Balmain pants and the revival of the Bamboo bag from Gucci - another Grace Kelly reference! And I discovered the webshop Pixie-market a couple of weeks ago and its amazing.. A lot of quirky dresses and stuff you don't see everywhere else. The two dresses on the grey background and the cream shirt with small black hearts can be purchased there..

Anyways, have a lovely weekend in the sun.. Its positively Summer here in Aarhus, I have been wearing no stockings the past fortnight and I'm always chilly!! I almost believe to see a slight difference between the parts of me that was covered and those that weren't.. That's a record for me!
So, I'm on the sunscrean lotion already.. Not a bad start of the year, I think!
